Paula O’Gorman and Eadaoin Carrick of the Cantec Group took some time out of the office on Friday to celebrate the achievements of members of the Network Ireland, Waterford Branch. In the lush surroundings of beautiful Waterford Castle, the annual awards ceremony recognised and congratulated women from diverse business backgrounds.

Eadaoin, who handed over the Presidential Chains of Office earlier this year, enjoyed the event from the other side of the podium. She was particularly delighted that Paula was both nominated and highly commended in the Employee Shining Star Category.

Colleagues for over 20 years, Eadaoin and Paula have supported and encouraged each other’s careers. Eadaoin is Executive Chairperson of the Cantec Group and a Director of the company. Paula was promoted in 2021 to the role of Director and Chief Marketing Officer.

The average representation of women at Director level is currently at about 22%. The Cantec Group are proud to have female representation at 33% with Chief Finance Office, Hazel Cotterell making up the third Female Director from a board of nine. This is a positive step in any environment but especially so when the Cantec Group staff composition at present is predominately male.
